European Parliament Approves €1.9 Billion Growth Plan for Moldova

Politics

President Maia Sandu has welcomed the European Parliament’s approval of a €1.9 billion Growth Plan for Moldova, calling it a "strong vote of confidence in our future."

The financial package, aimed at boosting Moldova’s economy and improving living standards, includes €520 million in grants and €1.5 billion in low-interest loans. It also increases pre-financing to 18% from the initially proposed 7%, enabling faster resource mobilization, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

The plan will help Moldova address key challenges, including economic hardships and security threats stemming from Russia’s war against Ukraine. Investments will focus on energy security, anti-corruption measures, and modernizing public services as Moldova moves closer to EU integration.
