Zelenskyy: Just and Lasting Peace Possible with US Leadership

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reaffirmed on Monday that a just and lasting peace is achievable with US leadership and coordinated efforts across Europe, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency

“Strong positions on the front line and strong diplomacy must work together for peace. Under US leadership and with European cooperation, this is absolutely achievable,” Zelenskyy stated on Telegram.

He highlighted new commitments from European nations, including military aid, enhanced air defense systems, and increased defense investments.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Syhiba discussed Ukraine’s peace efforts in a call with UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy ahead of a meeting in Jeddah.

Zelenskyy is currently in Jeddah for talks with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. US and Ukrainian officials are set to meet on Tuesday.

Under President Donald Trump, the US has ceased military assistance and intelligence sharing with Kyiv while engaging directly with Russia. Saudi Arabia recently hosted talks between Moscow and Washington.
