Greece Backs Ukraine’s Future in Europe, Calls for Collective Defense

Greek Foreign Affairs Minister George Gerapetritis emphasized that Europe's future must include Ukraine, with its agreement, in an interview with Fox News, CE Report quotes Athens-Macedonian

He stressed the priority of ending hostilities and ensuring peace under international law, aligning with the U.S. stance. Looking ahead, he highlighted the need for security guarantees and Ukraine's reconstruction.

Gerapetritis called for a fair distribution of security responsibilities, with Europe playing a central role. He reaffirmed Greece's support for strengthening EU security mechanisms and moving towards collective defense. While Europe can offer multilevel guarantees to Ukraine, he noted, continued U.S. involvement remains crucial.
