Speaking on the third anniversary of Moldova’s EU membership application, Gherman highlighted the progress made and the importance of international support. "It's not an easy road, but neither are we alone! In three years, we have seen that we have trustworthy friends, and we have shown that Moldova can do it," she stated.

European Council President António Costa, during his visit to Chișinău, praised Moldova’s reform efforts and announced a €1.9 billion support package, with an initial €300 million arriving in April.

Moldova submitted its EU application on March 3, 2022, and was granted candidate status in June of the same year. Accession negotiations officially began in December 2023, with leaders aiming for full membership by 2030.
