Zelenskyy: US Aid to Ukraine Provided as Grants, Not Loans

Politics

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy clarified on Sunday that US aid to Ukraine was given as grants, not loans, dismissing claims that $500 billion in assistance should be considered debt, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency

Speaking at a press conference, Zelenskyy stated that Washington has provided $100 billion over three years of war and emphasized the need for a "win-win" agreement beneficial to both nations.

He also expressed willingness to step down if necessary, suggesting he would trade his position for Ukraine’s NATO membership under the right conditions.

Regarding former US President Donald Trump calling him a "dictator," Zelenskyy said he was not offended, adding that only a true dictator would take offense. He stressed that while US administrations change, Ukraine seeks lasting peace.
