Moldova’s Socialists Protest Outside Presidency, Demand Snap Elections

Politics

Dozens of supporters and members of Moldova’s Party of Socialists (PSRM) protested outside the Presidency today, demanding the resignation of the head of state and calling for snap presidential elections alongside parliamentary ones, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

The leader of the ruling Action and Solidarity Party (PAS), Igor Grosu, responded by emphasizing Moldova’s democratic values. "We are happy to live in a state where anyone, at any time, can protest against anybody," he stated. Grosu also criticized PSRM leader Igor Dodon, accusing him of serving foreign interests where protests are suppressed.

Presidency spokesperson Igor Zaharov also reacted, calling Dodon’s actions "the height of hypocrisy," arguing that he is trying to undermine democracy using its very own tools—protests.
