Ukraine, Poland defense ministers discuss joint projects

Defense Minister of Ukraine Rustem Umerov and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense of Poland Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz have discussed the supply of heavy armoured vehicles, the issues of logistics, and the prospects for joint defense projects in four key areas within the Ramstein framework.

Umerov announced this on his Facebook page, CE Report quotes Ukrinform.

“During the Ramstein meeting, I held a discussion with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense of Poland, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz. One key area of focus was the supply of heavy armored vehicles. Poland has delivered a significant amount of armored equipment to Ukraine, so we discussed its more active involvement in the Armored Vehicles and Maneuver Coalition. Our service members are counting on the support of this brotherly nation,” Umerov said.

He noted that the parties focused on the issues of logistics.

“Maintenance and repairs must be swift to ensure combat vehicles return to the battlefield as quickly as possible,” Umerov said.

Additionally, they considered the prospects of joint defense projects in four key areas, including heavy armored vehicles, air defense systems, drones, and ammunition.

The minister stressed that Poland is interested in strengthening industrial cooperation and recognizes Ukraine’s strategic importance for localized production.

Umerov thanked Poland for its comprehensive support for Ukraine since the first days of the full-scale invasion.
