Erdogan Urges Israel to End Occupation, Calls for Stronger Türkiye-Malaysia Ties

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has called on Israel to end its occupation of Palestinian territories and compensate for the damage caused. Speaking in Malaysia alongside Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, he emphasized the need for an independent Palestinian state based on 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency

Erdogan also stressed the importance of ASEAN nations uniting to provide aid to Gaza. Anwar praised Türkiye's leadership on the issue, stating no other country has done as much for humanitarian efforts. He also pledged to mobilize ASEAN for Gaza’s reconstruction under Malaysia’s presidency.

On trade, Erdogan announced plans to double Türkiye-Malaysia bilateral trade volume from $5 billion to $10 billion.
