Greek PM Highlights Key Reforms in Weekly Review
Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, in his weekly government update on Sunday, addressed key regulatory changes, including restrictions on alcohol and tobacco sales to minors, CE Report quotes Athens-Macedonian
He also discussed a new bill aimed at resolving unpaid loans burdening farmers and cooperatives. The proposal, now under public consultation, seeks to tackle €3.8 billion in bad loans affecting 700 cooperatives and 21,000 farmers.
Additionally, Mitsotakis highlighted a new financial tool providing €80 million in low-interest loans for small businesses, women entrepreneurs, and domestic electricity production.
On energy, he emphasized Greece’s shift towards self-sufficiency, stating that, for the first time in 25 years, the country produces more electricity than it consumes, reducing dependence on imports and boosting economic security.
