Politics

Moldovan President Maia Sandu is visiting Kyiv today to discuss bilateral cooperation, regional security, and the energy crisis exacerbated by Russia's actions on the left bank of the Dniester, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

Sandu emphasized Moldova’s steadfast support for Ukraine, stating: “For nearly three years, Ukrainians have been defending their country, families, and future. Their courage also protects peace in Moldova, for which we are very grateful.”

During her visit, Sandu will meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and other officials to address key issues, including security, energy, trade, infrastructure, and European integration. She reiterated Moldova’s commitment to being a reliable neighbor and friend to Ukraine.

The energy crisis, a critical topic on the agenda, has left citizens on the left bank of the Dniester without heat and electricity, raised energy costs on the right bank, and poses risks to regional stability.

Additionally, Sandu will participate in discussions at the New Europe Centre in Kyiv, focusing on foreign and security policy.

This marks Sandu’s second visit to Kyiv, following her November 2023 trip.
