Prime Minister Mitsotakis Visits Upgraded Emergency Department at Voula's Asklipiio Hospital
Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Thursday visited the newly constructed emergency department of the Asklipiio General Hospital in Voula, highlighting significant advancements in healthcare infrastructure, CE Report quotes Athens-Macedonian
The new ER, funded by a €6 million donation from the Athanasios and Marina Martinos Foundation, boasts state-of-the-art technology, nearly doubling its capacity with 37 beds compared to the previous 20. Mitsotakis expressed his satisfaction with the upgraded facilities and praised donor Thanassis Martinos for his contributions.
During the visit, the Prime Minister toured key areas, including Cardiology, Orthopedics, Paediatrics, and short-term hospitalisation rooms. He also engaged with medical staff and patients, discussing plans to modernise the National Health System through increased staffing, updated equipment, and infrastructure improvements funded by the Recovery Fund.
Mitsotakis emphasised the steady progress in healthcare reforms, acknowledging the hospital administration's efforts to enhance service quality. The upgraded ER marks a significant step in improving emergency care across Greece.
