Government Denies False Claims by Tiraspol Leaders on Humanitarian Aid

Politics

Government spokesman Daniel Vodă has dismissed misinformation spread by Tiraspol leaders regarding humanitarian aid proposed by Chișinău authorities for residents of the Transnistrian region, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

Vodă clarified that Chișinău sent an official letter on December 11, 2024, offering aid to citizens on the left bank of the Dniester River. However, Tiraspol leaders denied receiving the proposal.

“The letter was communicated at the level of political negotiators from Chișinău and Tiraspol. On December 16, an insolent response was received labeling our proposal as mere ‘paper’ and interfering in internal affairs,” Vodă said, countering claims by separatist leader Vadim Krasnoselski, who downplayed the offer and criticized coal aid as insufficient.

Vodă also rejected allegations that coal reserves came from Kyiv without coordination. He emphasized that the aid aimed to prevent long power outages in the region. "The refusal to accept this assistance shows the separatist administration’s divisive approach,” he added.

He accused the Russian Federation of orchestrating the crisis to position itself as the sole savior. “This mirrors past tactics of energy blackmail to impose political control,” Vodă concluded, warning of attempts to destabilize the region and influence governance in Chișinău.
