US President Donald Trump marked his first day back in office by signing a series of executive orders that signal major policy shifts, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency

At an event in Washington, D.C., Trump announced the reversal of 78 executive actions from the Biden administration, calling them "destructive and radical." Key orders included withdrawing the US from the Paris Climate Agreement and the World Health Organization (WHO), declaring a national emergency at the southern border, and reinstating Cuba as a state sponsor of terrorism.

In his address, Trump pledged to halt illegal immigration, revoke birthright citizenship, and pardon over 1,500 individuals involved in the January 6 Capitol riot. He also ordered a suspension of foreign aid pending a review to ensure alignment with US interests.

Other notable actions included designating cartels as terrorist organizations, implementing a government hiring freeze, and issuing a directive on the cost-of-living crisis.

Trump took steps to delay a ban on TikTok for 75 days, suggesting the platform could become part of a US-led joint venture.

The flurry of orders underscores the administration’s focus on reshaping domestic and foreign policies, as Trump sets the tone for his second term.
