Housing Support Programs
The Prime Minister announced the launch of "My Home 2," a €2 billion program enabling 20,000 citizens aged 25–50 to purchase their first homes with affordable loans. Applications are now open on the gov.gr platform, with 42,359 requests already submitted. The program covers up to 90% of property value, offering loans of up to €190,000. Half of the loan amount will have zero interest for eligible applicants.

Mitsotakis also mentioned the "Saving 2025" initiative, with over 31,000 applications received, and the "Change the Heating System and Water Heater" program, which allocates €223.2 million, including €44.6 million for energy-vulnerable households.

Energy Market Reforms
Addressing rising electricity prices in the EU, the Prime Minister sent a letter to European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, emphasizing the need for reforms. He noted that average wholesale electricity prices in Europe remain significantly higher than in 2019.

Transportation Modernization
Mitsotakis highlighted the introduction of the "tap2ride" contactless payment system for Athens’ public transportation. Passengers can now use bank cards or smart devices to pay for bus, trolley, metro, and tram rides, aligning Athens with smart city practices across Europe.

Insurance and Transparency Reforms
The government has addressed the sharp rise in premiums for long-term health insurance policies. Mitsotakis announced voluntary discounts of 50% on premiums starting in 2025, alongside a new amendment for greater fee transparency and a more objective market index from 2026.

Road Traffic Code Updates
Mitsotakis reaffirmed the government's commitment to stricter regulations for traffic violations under the new Road Traffic Code. Penalties will escalate based on the severity and frequency of offenses, focusing on driver accountability.

These initiatives underscore the government’s focus on housing affordability, sustainable energy, modernization, and regulatory reforms.
