Prime Minister Mitsotakis Meets EU Commissioner Brunner to Discuss Migration Policy

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis met with European Commissioner for Internal Affairs and Migration, Magnus Brunner, at the Maximos Mansion on Thursday. The discussion focused on progress in European migration policy, emphasizing border protection, returns, and legal migration pathways, CE Report quotes Athens-Macedonian

"We are satisfied with the progress at the European level toward a balanced migration policy, particularly in protecting external borders and enhancing legal migration routes," said Mitsotakis.

Brunner, on his first official visit abroad in his new role, praised Greece's key role in the EU's migration efforts. "Greece has been an important partner in addressing migration and security challenges. We have much to achieve, including implementing the Pact and improving returns," he noted.

Both leaders expressed optimism about future cooperation and the significant role Greece plays in shaping European migration policies.
