Government Prioritizes Housing and Middle-Class Support for 2024
Housing and middle-class support are top priorities for the government in the new year, according to government spokesman Pavlos Marinakis in an interview with Real News on Sunday, CE Report quotes Athens-Macedonian
“We must gradually return to the middle class what it was deprived of in past years, primarily through further tax exemptions, without risking a return to bankruptcy,” Marinakis stated. He also emphasized the importance of addressing major issues like the housing crisis with realistic solutions.
Marinakis revealed that the prime minister's proposal for Greece's presidency will be announced in January’s second half. However, he said he was unaware of any plans for a cabinet reshuffle.
Criticizing the opposition for "unrealistic tax promises," Marinakis noted the government’s focus on resolving critical challenges. Regarding Syria, he described the situation as transitional and rejected any agreements between Syria and Türkiye as legitimate.
