PSD Withdraws from Government Formation Talks, Backs Right-Wing Government

Politics

Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu announced Thursday that the Social Democratic Party (PSD) is stepping away from discussions on forming the Executive and will instead support a right-wing government in Parliament, CE Report quotes Agerpres

"You can't build anything with people who say one thing in private and another publicly. PSD has endured such attitudes long enough without making a scene. This approach is counterproductive for the public," Ciolacu stated on Facebook.

He emphasized that while PSD is withdrawing from negotiations, it is not shirking responsibility. "The country urgently needs a government to address pressing issues ahead of the presidential elections," he added.
