Maia Sandu's Swearing-In Ceremony Scheduled for December 24

According to Moldova’s Constitution, the president takes the oath before Parliament and the Constitutional Court within 45 days of the election. The presidential term lasts four years, beginning from the swearing-in date and continuing until the next president takes office.
In the November 3 runoff election, Maia Sandu secured 930,139 votes, defeating Alexandr Stoianoglo, who received 750,430 votes. Sandu becomes the first Moldovan president elected by popular vote to serve two terms. The Constitutional Court validated the election results and Sandu's mandate on November 28.
