Greek PM Kyriakos Mitsotakis Visits Lebanon to Strengthen Ties

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis arrived in Beirut on Monday, welcomed at the airport by Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati. Mitsotakis expressed his satisfaction with the visit, emphasizing Greece's strong commitment to Lebanon and highlighting the enduring ties between the two nations, CE Report quotes Athens-Macedonian

"I'm honored to be the first foreign leader to visit Lebanon following the ceasefire and recent developments in Syria. This visit holds great significance, and we have much to discuss," said Mitsotakis.

Prime Minister Mikati echoed these sentiments, noting the close relationship between Lebanon, Greece, and Cyprus. "In many ways, we are neighbors, and we always aim for the best possible relationship," he added.

Mitsotakis met with Mikati at the Grand Serail Mansion, followed by scheduled joint statements. Earlier in the day, he met with the Patriarch of Antioch, John X, and Metropolitan Elias of Beirut. At noon, he was set to meet with Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri at Ain el-Tineh.
