Parliament has joined the United Nations campaign 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence to raise the alarm against this phenomenon and in solidarity with the victims of violence, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

Fighting and preventing violence is high on the legislature's agenda. This year, the concept of femicide, which is the most serious form of violence against women, including girls, was introduced into Moldovan law. Statistics show that in the first nine months of this year, 22 cases of femicide were registered. 5,224 women have called the hotline for help. 798 protection orders were issued and 788 were violated.
