Gov't spokesman: We will fight nationally dangerous fake news and disinformation to the very end

The speed and dissemination of fake news through social media networks was the focus of an address at a conference on misinformation and disinformation by Deputy Minister to the prime minister and government spokesman Pavlos Marinakis earlier on Friday, CE Report quotes Athens-Macedonian

Marinakis provided two examples, such as when a radio producer made up a statement on a concert for the Tempi victims purportedly said by Marinakis, which led to a young woman chastizing the government spokesman on his social media account for what she said was "insulting the concert-goers." The fake statement was then used for critical commentary by another journalist on a large TV channel, he said.
