Moldovan Energy minister: Current energy investments most likely exceed past three decades' figure
Following the commissioning of all three present or upcoming energy interconnection lines with Romania, the Republic of Moldova is likely to join the common European energy market even before it becomes an EU member state, Moldovan Energy Minister Victor Parlicov told AGERPRES in an interview, CE Report quotes Agerpres
Speaking of the already functional Isaccea-Vulcanesti interconnection, which became operational after the synchronization of Ukraine and Moldova's grids with ENTSO-E on March 16, 2022, the minister said that it was a saver in the dire time that followed the November 2022 move of Gazprom to limit gas supplies to the Republic of Moldova and when energy was unavailable because of the war in Ukraine. "Back then we procured the entire amount of energy the Republic of Moldova needed through this line, through this interconnector," Parlicov said.
