Mitsotakis wraps up two-day tour on Crete with visit at Therisso village
New Democracy leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis wrapped up a two-day tour to his home island on Wednesday by visiting Therisso in the Chania area of western Crete. Cereport reports citing Athens-Macedonian
Mitsotakis said he wanted to visit the historical village where leading Greek statesman Eleftherios Venizelos (1864-1936) began a revolt in 1905 to demand union with Greece.
The ND leader was given a tour of a related historical building and thanked voters for supporting the party during the first round of elections. "On May 21 you gave us a great and powerful mandate. We will go together to confirm it in the elections of June 25, for a strong party and a government that will guarantee stability and prosperity in Greece," Mitsotakis said.
