On Thursday, Poland’s ruling Law and Justice party (PiS) held memorial events in Warsaw to mark the anniversary. The day began with a morning mass at a church on Krakowskie Przedmieście Street, followed by a ceremony in front of the Presidential Palace—where crowds gathered in mourning 14 years ago. The tribute featured the national anthem, a reading of the victims’ names, and a symbolic display: a cross made of white and red candles alongside a photo of the late presidential couple.
