North Macedonia faces criticism for ignoring Kosovo's independence
The Democratic Union for Integration - BDI has reacted for the first time. The state institutions of North Macedonia, including the President, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, did not send an official public greeting on the occasion of the Independence Day of the Republic of Kosovo, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.
According to BDI, this action is not only a diplomatic error, but also a direct signal that undermines the spirit of good neighborliness and regional cooperation.
“Whereas, Milorad Dodik, a political figure known for his destructive stances towards Euro-Atlantic processes and the principles of regional stability, was received in our country with all state honors. This clear inconsistency in the treatment of neighboring states sends a disturbing message about the direction of our state's policy. Such behavior is a consequence of the growing influence of the concept of the "Serbian World" in North Macedonia, a project that poses a threat to the sovereignty, European perspective and strategic interests of the state. Promoting this ideology to the detriment of friendly relations with Kosovo is unacceptable and harmful".
