Montenegro’s President outlines key pillars of country’s foreign policy
Montenegro’s foreign policy stands on four key pillars, said President Jakov Milatović at the 4th Antalya Diplomacy Forum, CE report informs.
Regional Cooperation: As a Balkan nation, Montenegro emphasizes mutual trust and respect among neighbors to foster peace and stability.
NATO Membership: This pillar underscores Montenegro’s commitment to security, especially amid Europe's ongoing geopolitical challenges.
EU Aspirations: Montenegro, one of the most advanced EU candidate countries, aims to become the 28th EU member by 2028, a goal strengthened by the war in Ukraine, which has led to EU capitals prioritizing enlargement for European security.
UN Cooperation: Montenegro plays a vital role in addressing the challenges facing the world today. Its unwavering support for the principles of multilateralism, human rights, and international law aligns closely with the core values of the United Nations.
In closing, Milatović expressed hope that Montenegro’s EU journey could serve as an example for other candidate countries, benefiting both the region and the EU.
