PM Recean Discusses Local Development and EU Support

Moldova

Prime Minister Dorin Recean met with local public authorities and decentralized services from Criuleni district to discuss opportunities for regional development, project implementation, and the challenges faced by citizens, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

The PM emphasized the continued focus on initiatives that benefit citizens, pointing to the 1.9 billion euros provided by the European Union for key reforms and infrastructure projects. He announced a new call for projects under the European Village program, offering additional funding to those who missed out on previous calls.

"We must capitalize on EU support, both financial and structural, to modernize the country and improve living conditions," said PM Recean.

The government will also create a fund to help local authorities cover their contributions to project co-financing, speeding up implementation. In addition, the meeting addressed the ongoing African swine fever outbreaks in Criuleni and Anenii Noi, with authorities working to contain the situation and ensure public health.

Further discussions included improvements to water and sewage systems, land delimitation, and street lighting infrastructure in the region.
