President Sandu Leads Key Discussions

President Maia Sandu convened a Supreme Security Council (CSS) meeting today, focusing on enhancing the security of Moldova's electoral process. During the meeting, state institutions presented updates on efforts to ensure free and fair elections, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

The discussions centered on combating disinformation, foreign interference, and illicit financing in electoral campaigns. Sandu highlighted the risks posed by foreign influence and misinformation, stressing the need for strengthened monitoring and inter-institutional cooperation to safeguard the electoral process.

Additionally, the CSS addressed the importance of cyber security, with institutions detailing measures to protect Moldova’s information infrastructure from cyber threats. Participants agreed on the necessity of enhanced collaboration with international partners to ensure rapid responses to potential incidents.

President Sandu reaffirmed the government's commitment to securing a transparent and trustworthy electoral process, ensuring that Moldovans can freely determine their future.
