Moldova

Over 7,000 residents of Cojusna village in central Straseni district will now have access to enhanced waste disposal services. A specialized transport vehicle for waste collection and transportation has been acquired through funding from the National Environmental Fund, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

The project will ensure proper waste evacuation and recycling for over 2,450 households and 125 economic agents. Beneficiaries include two kindergartens, a lyceum, an art school, a community center, a hospital, and other social institutions. The grant allocated for the vehicle is approximately 1.37 million lei, with a local contribution of 137,000 lei.

Speaker of Parliament Igor Grosu attended the official handover alongside local authorities. He highlighted that Cojusna has received investments worth about five million lei over the past two years through the National European Village Program, modernizing infrastructure and public services.

During his visit, Grosu also met with local entrepreneurs, discussing business development and legislative improvements. He visited a plum orchard and vineyard managed by Sergiu Boșcăneanu, who has implemented modern irrigation and climate adaptation techniques with government support. Additionally, at Cojusna Winery, he spoke with owner Grigore Panus about the achievements and challenges of Moldova’s wine industry. The winery, one of the country’s largest wine and cognac producers, exports to Romania, Belgium, and Germany.

Cojusna continues to develop through strategic investments, improving both public services and economic opportunities for its residents.
