Over 1,500 drivers have been caught by surveillance cameras for failing to fasten their seat belts and using mobile phones while driving. These violations were recorded within a week of adjusting the traffic monitoring system, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES
Authorities emphasize that the system’s primary goal is not to penalize drivers but to improve road safety and prevent accidents.
According to the National Public Security Inspectorate, not wearing a seat belt or using a mobile phone while driving can result in a fine of up to 600 lei and three penalty points.
The police urge all drivers to always wear seat belts, avoid distractions, and strictly follow traffic regulations to ensure their own safety and that of others.
