Serving as a telegraphist in the Romanian Army from 1942 to 1944, Cojocari survived the war but was later deported to Siberia in 1951, enduring nine years of hardship before returning home. Despite his age, he remains engaged in Moldova’s future.
Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu, who visited him on his birthday, praised Cojocari as a "hero and symbol of our nation." The National Army also honored him, recognizing his resilience and sacrifices.
At 106, Cojocari’s wish remains clear: peace and a European Moldova.
