Over 3.5 Billion Lei Invested in Moldova's Economy through 373 Programme

Moldova

The 373 governmental programme has facilitated investments exceeding 3.5 billion lei into Moldova's economy, benefiting 570 participants, according to the government’s communication department. Approximately 2.4 billion lei of this sum is attributed to loans with state-compensated interest, supporting 750 investment projects, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

These projects have strengthened businesses employing about 8,400 people, with an additional 1,969 jobs expected to be created soon. Investments span diverse sectors, with the energy production and supply sector attracting 45% of the total investment. Other significant sectors include transport and storage (16%) and manufacturing (16%), alongside health, agriculture, forestry, and fisheries.

Investments are distributed across all Moldovan districts, with the Centru region and Chisinau leading with over 1.2 billion lei each. The North region recorded 686 million lei, the South 185 million lei, and Gagauzia 120 million lei. The average loan value is 3.2 million lei.

Launched in July 2023, the programme underwent enhancements in spring 2024, raising the maximum loan amount from 15 million to 40 million lei. It also enabled financing for raw materials, up to 30% of an investment project’s value, and increased the guarantee ceiling from 40% to 80% through the Loan Guarantee Fund.

These changes spurred three consecutive quarters of investment growth in 2024, as reported by the National Statistics Bureau. Loans under the 373 programme are available at any Moldovan bank.
