Education Ministry Introduces New Measures to Reduce Bureaucracy in Schools
Starting in 2025, headmasters of schools and kindergartens will be able to manage reporting and complete necessary documentation through the Management in Education Information System (SIME). Additionally, several mandatory reporting documents for early education institutions will be eliminated, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES
These steps are part of the Education Ministry’s second de-bureaucratization package, which aims to free up educators’ time for teaching and pupil interaction. The package also includes the creation of 8,750 teaching projects for primary, gymnasium, and lyceum levels to support teachers.
"Less time spent on paperwork means more time for children," said Education Minister Dan Perciun. "These measures reduce administrative burdens, allowing teachers and school managers to focus on education and skill development."
The first de-bureaucratization package, launched in 2024, introduced measures such as a moratorium on external controls in schools and kindergartens, suspension of external evaluations by ANACEC, and removal of mandatory reporting on teaching material compensation.
Moldova, home to around 1,200 schools—primarily at the gymnasium level—continues to implement reforms aimed at improving educational outcomes and reducing administrative demands on educators.
