Romania Donates First Mobile Air Quality Monitoring Laboratory to Moldova
The first mobile laboratory for air quality monitoring, a donation from Romania's National Environmental Protection Agency, has arrived in Chisinau. Environment Minister Sergiu Lazarencu and the Environment Agency team conducted tests in the city center, with results showing all air quality parameters within admissible limits, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES
The new laboratory significantly enhances efficiency, delivering results in just one hour compared to the previous 24-hour timeframe. This improvement enables faster monitoring and immediate action if critical values are detected.
"The laboratory’s mobility allows it to be deployed swiftly to urban, rural, or industrial areas for on-site monitoring. Its alternative energy source ensures uninterrupted operation even during power outages," stated the Environment Ministry.
Equipped with advanced aspirators, the laboratory can measure volatile organic compounds like benzene, toluene, and ethylbenzene—capabilities previously unavailable at existing automated stations. This marks significant progress in air quality monitoring and environmental protection.
The donation underscores the strong Moldovan-Romanian partnership for a cleaner environment. "This symbolizes joint efforts for a greener future, strengthening our cooperation and reaffirming our commitment to environmental protection and public health," Moldova’s principal environmental authority said.
