
Three Arrested in Kosovo for War Crimes Against Civilians
The Kosovo Police, after a long investigative activity, has undertaken several operational actions, with the aim of locating and arresting three suspects for war crimes against the civilian population during the war in Kosovo, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.
In Lipjan, in two separate locations, the suspect BT and the suspect N.Ç. were located and arrested.
In continuation of the operational activity in Pristina, the third MI suspect has been located and arrested.
The same are suspected of the criminal offense of "War crimes against the civilian population" committed during 1998-1999 in the Pristina and Lipjan Prisons. In their capacity as guards-correctional officers in the Pristina Prison and the Lipjan Correctional Center, they participated in the mistreatment, beatings, and physical and psychological torture of Albanian detainees.
The arrested have been escorted to the offices of the War Crimes Investigation Directorate and are being interviewed.
