False Robbery Report Leads to Arrest in Kosovo

Kosovo Police have arrested a person suspected of making a false report today, after reporting an alleged robbery in Fushë Kosovë, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.

According to the police, immediately after receiving the information about the robbery, the investigative units took the necessary actions to solve the case. However, during the investigations conducted in close cooperation with the state prosecutor, it was confirmed that the reported case was fabricated and did not occur in the manner claimed by the complainant.

"Today, the person who filed the false case was arrested by the police. Criminal proceedings have been initiated against him for the offense of "false reporting,"" the announcement says.

Police said that on April 9, 2025, in Fushë Kosovë, a suspected robbery case was reported.

"Immediately after receiving the information, investigative units began actions to clarify the circumstances of the incident," the announcement states.

It further states that the Kosovo Police remains committed to fully clarifying every case and maintaining public order and security, acting professionally and in accordance with the law.
