Kurti: Kosovo has never had a more armed army than today
Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti said that Kosovo has never had a more armed and equipped army than today, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.
In marking the 27th anniversary of the KLA Epic, Kurti said that the alignment of the squares has a tradition dating back to March 6, 1999.
"Since the liberation of our homeland in June 1999 and until today, one of the key tasks for preserving the freedom won with the blood of our people's martyrs has been and continues to be the strengthening of the Kosovo army. Today, I can happily state that since 1989, when Adem Jashari and his comrades began talking and working for the Kosovo army, we have never had a stronger, better armed, better equipped and better trained army than today," he declared, according to the report.
The large-scale attack that Serbia had undertaken in Drenica to eliminate the Kosovo Liberation Army was concentrated in Prekaz, in the heart and head of the KLA, making it an iron siege.
What will happen in early March 1998 will be a living testimony to the civilized world and its political and diplomatic responsibilities. In fact, this event, so direct and so powerful in its dimensions of unique sacrifice, resistance and massacre, will raise the issue of Kosovo to the top of the world agenda. Thus, on the night of March 4-5, 1998, Prekaz is surrounded by numerous military and police forces. This suggests that there will be an iron siege there.
