Pristina municipality blames waste company for crisis

Kosovo

The Municipality of Pristina, ten days after declaring a state of emergency for waste in the capital, continues to blame the regional waste company “Pastrimi”, saying that the situation has deteriorated significantly, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.

According to municipal officials, this company has failed, producing unreasonable sabotage and political games which, according to them, have hindered any possibility of improving the situation on the ground.

At a press conference, the Director of Public Services, Bekim Brestovci, said that the 2,500 new containers and six new trucks, which the municipality gave to this company, have been requested to be distributed in the capital. According to him, the containers and trucks are continuing to remain at their landfills, even though they have been requested to be distributed.

Regarding this “irresponsibility” by the “Pastrimi” company, Brestovci said that it could also be political.
