Kosovo's fight for justice gains global recognition
The Presidency of the Republic of Kosovo Congratulates and Supports the Nomination of KRCT - Kosovo Rehabilitation Centre for Torture Victims and Feride Rushiti for the Nobel Peace Prize, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.
The KRCT organization has been consistently supported by the Presidency of Kosovo and has remained a key partner over the years in organizing the International Forum for Women, Peace, and Security, as well as in advancing this agenda within Kosovo.
This organization has significantly contributed to the rehabilitation process of survivors of sexual violence during the last war in Kosovo. Furthermore, it has played a crucial role in shaping policies aimed at improving the well-being and status of this vulnerable group in society.
Beyond its work in Kosovo, KRCT is recognized as one of the organizations assisting survivors of sexual violence during wars and conflicts in various countries worldwide. It also shares Kosovo's experience in building support mechanisms for survivors of wartime sexual violence.
A special thanks is extended to Swedish MP Magnus Jacobsson, who submitted the nomination proposal to the Nobel Peace Prize Committee. Moreover, Jacobsson actively participated in events addressing sexual violence during wars and conflicts, such as the International Forum for Women, Peace, and Security.
