Pristina's new transport routes spark economic damage
The "Podujevë-Prishtina" Transport Association has temporarily suspended its passenger transportation activities due to what it calls "flagrant violations of basic rights and the risk of bankruptcy," CE Report quotes Kosova Press.
In an official statement, the association emphasized that the situation resulted from actions taken by the Municipality of Pristina, which issued new transportation routes bypassing legal procedures and the rights of existing operators.
"According to the association, these actions have caused significant economic damage, endangering its existence and the jobs of many people dependent on this sector," the statement reads.
For this reason, the transporters urgently request the intervention of competent institutions to address this legal violation and take immediate measures to enable the continuation of transport services under fair and legal conditions for all operators.
The association also calls for the Municipality of Pristina to review its decisions and ensure a fair and equal market for all operators, respecting competition and the legal framework.
