President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella was hospitalized yesterday for a scheduled procedure to implant a pacemaker, after completing the engagements planned in his official agenda for the day.
The procedure was carried out at 8:00 p.m.
Following the operation, the President returned to the cardiology department, where he spent a peaceful night. The President is completely asymptomatic and in stable clinical condition.
