Slovenia to legalize medical cannabis

Slovenia to legalize medical cannabis

Health

The coalition Freedom Movement and Left proposed a bill on Thursday to legalize the cultivation, production, and trade of cannabis for medical and scientific purposes in Slovenia.

This move comes in response to voter support expressed in a 2024 referendum, CE Report quotes STA.

However, their fellow coalition partners, the Social Democrats (SocDems), did not support the bill.

The proposal marks a significant step in Slovenia’s approach to cannabis regulation.
