The PDK candidate for prime minister, Bedri Hamza, inaugurated the new building of the Main Family Medicine Center in Mitrovica, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.

Hamza stated that improving medical services has been one of his highest priorities.

"Standing here with you is a special moment for me. It is a moment that fills me with pride but also determination to continue working in this way and always be at the service of citizens. The new family medicine center in Mitrovica is not just a simple building. It is a symbol of the transformation of primary healthcare in Kosovo and the fulfillment of promises made to our citizens," Hamza said.

He added, "This facility we are inaugurating today also represents our vision for a healthcare system that meets citizens' needs with dignity and efficiency."

"In these three years, during which we have taken many significant steps, we have hired over 100 new professionals to strengthen healthcare teams and primary care. We built four new family medicine centers in Iliridë, Koshtovë, Frashër, and Stan Tërg. We renovated nine medical centers in urban and rural areas. With the experience and successes demonstrated in Mitrovica, we are ready to apply this model across Kosovo," Hamza said.

This center was built as a co-financed project by the Municipality of Mitrovica and the "Jetimat e Ballkanit" association.

The head of this association, Halil Kastrati, said, "We owed this to the country. One day, we won't be here anymore. But today, the mayor told me something in his office. He said, 'This building will live much longer than you and me.' And I told the mayor: It is very true, but while we may leave, at least we know we've left something behind. Mitrovica, enjoy it!" he said.
