Greek Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis, speaking ahead of the EU Foreign Affairs Council in Luxembourg, warned that Europe is facing unprecedented global crises — including war, humanitarian disasters, and climate threats — that challenge both global security and core European values, CE Report quotes Athens-Macedonian

He urged the EU to respond with a unified voice rooted in international law, democracy, and peaceful conflict resolution. Gerapetritis called for an immediate halt to hostilities in Ukraine and condemned recent attacks, reaffirming support for Ukraine’s territorial integrity.

Addressing the Middle East, he stressed the need for Europe to push for an end to violence and begin political dialogue toward a two-state solution involving the Palestinian Authority. He also emphasized the importance of Europe's active engagement in Syria, Africa, and the Western Balkans.

“Europe must become stronger and more united,” he concluded, calling for a cohesive institutional voice to confront global challenges.
