Strong Winds Disrupt Sailing in Greece

Gale-force winds of 8 to 9 Beaufort in the Ionian and Aegean Seas have prompted sailing bans in several areas, according to the Hellenic Meteorological Service. The winds are expected to gradually weaken later in the afternoon, CE Report quotes Athens-Macedonian

Currently, the Arkitsa-Edipsos and Kavala-Prinou Thasos routes are closed. On the Keramoti-Limenas Thasos line, only the "Anax" ship is operating. Restrictions also apply to the Alexandroupoli-Samothrace and Rio-Antirrio routes, while the Kyllini-Kefalonia line operates only with captain's log entry.

Sailing from Piraeus, Rafina, and Lavrio ports remains unaffected. Travelers are advised to check with local port authorities or travel agencies for updates before departure.
