The General Secretariat of Civil Protection urges citizens to exercise caution on Thursday due to ongoing severe weather conditions, as outlined in the National Meteorological Service's (EMY) Emergency Weather Deterioration Report issued on December 26, 2024, CE Report quotes Athens-Macedonian

Expected conditions include heavy rainfall, isolated storms in southern coastal areas, strong northeasterly winds in central and northern parts of eastern Greece, and snowfall in mountainous and semi-mountainous areas of central and northern regions.

Authorities recommend citizens take necessary precautions to protect themselves from potential risks. Government agencies, regions, and municipalities have been notified to maintain heightened readiness to address any emergencies caused by extreme weather.

While weather conditions are expected to improve on Friday, gale-force northeasterly winds will persist in the Aegean and parts of the eastern mainland.
