
Eurozone inflation slows
The Eurozone's annual inflation rate is expected to have slowed to 2.4 percent in February, compared with 2.6 percent in the same period last year and 2.5 percent in January, according to a flash estimate published by Eurostat, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.
Looking at the main components of euro area inflation, the European Statistical Office expects the services sector to post the highest annual rate in February (3.7 percent, compared with 3.9 percent in January), followed by food, alcohol and tobacco (2.7 percent, compared with 2.3 percent in January), non-energy industrial products (0.6 percent, compared with 0.5 percent in January) and energy (0.2 percent, compared with 1.9 percent in January), the Eurostat reports.
Core inflation, which excludes volatile items such as alcohol and processed food products, is estimated at 2.6 percent in February, down from 2.7 percent in January and 2.1 percent in the same month last year.
