EU leaders to visit Kyiv soon
President of the European Council António Costa has confirmed that he and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will visit the Ukrainian capital on February 24, the third anniversary of the beginning of Russia's full-scale aggression against Ukraine.
He announced this on social media platform X, CE Report quotes Ukrinform.
“Monday, February 24, marks the third anniversary of the Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine. I have decided to be in Kyiv for that occasion, with Ursula von der Leyen, to reaffirm our support for the heroic Ukrainian people and the democratically elected President Volodymyr Zelensky,” Costa said.
In connection with his visit to the Ukrainian capital, he thanked President of Côte d'Ivoire Alassane Ouattara and UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay for postponing the ceremony of awarding the Félix Houphouët-Boigny Peace Prize, which had been scheduled to take place on the same day.
