Italy's unemployment rate up
Italy's unemployment rose to 6.2% in December, up 0.3 of a percentage point on the previous month, according to provisional data released by Istat,
The national statistics agency added that the jobless rate for under-25s who are active on the labour market fell by 0.1 of a point to 19.4%, CE Report quotes ANSA.
It said the number of people in employment was stable with respect to November at 24.065 million.
It said that the number of people in work was up by 274,000 (1.2%) on December 2023.
Istat said Italy's employment rate is December was 62.3%, down 0.1 of a point on the previous month.
The inactivity rate fell 0.2 of a point to 33.5%.
