Five Men Detained for Alleged Fraud in Tomato Program in Dâmbovița County: Five men, aged between 25 and 57, have been detained following searches in several Dâmbovița county villages in a case related to illegal fund acquisition through the "Tomato" Program, as informed by Dâmbovița County Police Department.
After gathering evidence by the Economic Crime Investigation Service, under the coordination of a prosecutor from the Dâmbovița County Prosecutor's Office, detention for 24 hours was ordered for the individuals. Today, on March 7, the suspects will be presented to the magistrates for the determination of preventive measures.
Police conducted nine home searches in the Dâmbovița villages of Băleni, Bucşani, I.L. Caragiale, and Petreşti on Wednesday. The suspects are suspected of falsifying and submitting documents between January 1, 2019, and December 20, 2019, to falsely justify tomato sales transactions in order to obtain state funding. The estimated damage is €21,000.
Fatal Road Accident Involving Truck, Car, and Cart Near Găujani: The Giurgiu County Emergency Inspectorate (ISU Giurgiu) was called to intervene following a road accident on DN 5C between the localities of Găujani and Pietrişu involving a truck, a car, and a cart. Firefighters from the Giurgiu Detachment arrived on the scene with equipment for extrication, fire suppression, multiple victim transportation, a SMURD ambulance, and four emergency medical service (SAJ) vehicles.
Four people were in the car, one of whom, a young woman nearly 19 years old, was found in cardiac arrest. Resuscitation efforts were initiated immediately, but unfortunately, despite the efforts, she could not be saved.
The car's driver, 21 years old, and two passengers, a 20-year-old man, and a 14-year-old girl, were conscious and cooperative and were transported to the hospital by SMURD and SAJ teams.
The truck driver and the cart rider did not require medical care. Firefighters ensured fire prevention measures, and the case remained under police investigation.
Firefighters Act to Evacuate Water from Homes Amidst Weather Alert in Timiș County: According to information from the Timiș County Emergency Inspectorate (ISU Timiș), firefighters are working to evacuate water from households as the situation develops.
The area was under a yellow weather warning for precipitation and lightning between 20:35 and 22:30.
Firefighters from Făget Station and Lugoj Detachment are deployed with equipment including a first intervention and command vehicle, a truck, four motor pumps, two electric pumps, two lighting balloons, and a boat, along with a SMURD team.
